Garapa Prime KD smooth decking board 45 × 145 mm fixed lengths – durable elegance from South America

The Garapa Prime KD smooth decking boards 45x145mm fixed lengths offer high-quality hardwood from South America, which impresses with its natural beauty, stability, and longevity. Garapa wood is characterized by a bright, honey-yellow color that gradually transitions into a warm brown tone after installation – ideal for elegant and timeless patio areas.

The smooth surface ensures a modern, sophisticated look and emphasizes the wood's characteristic grain. Thanks to kiln drying (KD) to a moisture content of 16–18%, the wood is dimensionally stable and optimally prepared for outdoor use.

With durability class 3 according to DIN EN 350-2, Garapa offers excellent weather resistance and can be used without additional chemical treatment (excluding direct soil contact). The high density of 790–1,010 kg/m³ and a Brinell hardness of up to 79 N/mm² make Garapa particularly robust and resilient – ideal for high-traffic patio surfaces.

The moderate swelling and shrinkage behavior of the wood requires a gap width of at least 4 mm during installation to compensate for natural dimensional changes. For secure installation, pre-drilling is mandatory, as the hardwood has an abrasive effect due to silica deposits. Carbide-tipped tools are recommended for precise processing.

Only grade A4 stainless steel screws are suitable for fastening in order to avoid grey-blue discoloration caused by reactions with the tannin-containing ingredients. Controlled water drainage additionally protects against surface contamination.
