G-Park 2-layer solid oak floorboards

G-Park 2-layer solid oak floorboards combine the impact of wide oak planks with the stable construction of two-layer parquet. The visible oak surface defines the floor like a classic floorboard, while the backing layer ensures good dimensional stability and is designed for full-surface bonding to the subfloor.

Advantages of G-Park 2-layer solid oak floorboards

  • Generous floorboard appearance
The width of 155 mm and variable lengths from 500 to 2000 mm create a natural, lively floor appearance with a high-quality oak effect.
  • Stable 2-layer construction
The construction combines a real wood surface with good dimensional stability and is well-suited for technically precise installation.
  • Oak with character
The oak wood type looks warm, robust and can be combined in many ways – from modern living spaces to classic room concepts.
  • Diverse gradings
Elegance, Natural, Distinctive and Rustic allow for different floor patterns – from calm and balanced to lively and knotty.
  • Multiple surfaces
Raw, oxidatively oiled, white oiled or brushed and oiled offer room for different looks, feels and maintenance requirements.

Grading, surface and board format

Due to the wide format, the grading of our G-Park 2-layer solid oak floorboards stands out more clearly than with smaller parquet boards. The 155 mm wide boards provide more room for grain, color variation and natural wood features, making the character of the oak more visible across the surface.

The grading influences how calm or lively the floor looks. Elegance shows a particularly calm, uniform oak look. Natural appears balanced and organic. Distinctive brings more structure and color variation to the area, while Rustic emphasizes knots, lively features and a stronger wood character.

Select G-Park 2-layer solid oak floorboards by surface

The chosen surface determines the look, feel and maintenance. Raw offers great freedom for later finishing. Oxidatively oiled emphasizes the natural oak structure and appears warm with open pores. 5% oxidatively white oiled slightly lightens the oak look, while brushed & oxidatively oiled highlights the structure more strongly.

Construction and format

Thanks to its two-layer construction, G-Park 2-layer solid oak floorboards combine a visible oak wear layer with a stabilizing base layer. The 11 mm thickness keeps the floor construction slim and makes it easy to plan when transitions, doors or adjacent floor coverings need to be taken into account.

The format 11 × 155 × 500–2000 mm brings out the effect of oak floorboards more strongly. The 155 mm width shows more wood surface, while the varying lengths create a naturally structured installation pattern.

Tip: If you prefer a more compact parquet look with a similar 2-layer construction, G-Park 2-layer might be of interest. For an even more generous floorboard effect, take a look at G-Park Maxi 2-layer.

Technical planning notes

Full-surface bonding requires a level, load-bearing, clean and sufficiently dry subfloor. Residual moisture, evenness and strength should be checked before installation to ensure the floor remains stable and the bonding can be carried out professionally.

Due to the firm connection to the subfloor, G-Park 2-layer solid oak floorboards are also suitable for warm water underfloor heating. Further information can be found in our Parquet and underfloor heating leaflet.

FAQs

A G-Park 2-layer solid wood plank combines the character of a genuine wooden plank with a dimensionally stable two-layer construction. The visible surface is made of real wood, while a backing layer underneath ensures stability. This results in a natural plank floor with a high-quality appearance and a technically well-planned structure.

Classic G-Park 2-layer parquet is more compact and has a more parquet-like effect. In contrast, the G-Park 2-layer solid wood plank has more of a plank character and a broader, longer look. It is particularly suitable when a natural, spacious wooden floor with a stable construction is desired. You can find the more compact alternative under G-Park 2-layer.

A 2-layer solid wood plank consists of an upper real wood layer and a stabilizing backing layer. The top layer determines the wood species, color, grain, grading, and renewability. The backing layer supports dimensional stability and makes the floor particularly suitable for full-surface bonding. You can find further multi-layer real wood floors under Engineered parquet.

Depending on the product, G-Park 2-layer solid wood planks are available raw, oiled, white-oiled, or otherwise surface-treated. Raw variants offer great freedom for subsequent treatment. Oiled surfaces emphasize the natural oak look and ensure a warm, cozy effect. For cleaning and subsequent maintenance, you can find suitable products in the categories Wood floor oil, Parquet sealerand Care products.

G-Park 2-layer solid wood planks are generally glued down over the entire surface. The subfloor must be dry, level, clean, and load-bearing. Bonding ensures a stable floor construction, a pleasant walking feel, and good heat transfer for heated floors. You can find suitable accessories in the category Adhesives/Screws. You can find out more about the installation method in the guide Installing parquet as a floating floor or gluing it down.

Due to their two-layer construction and full-surface bonding, G-Park 2-layer solid wood planks can be suitable for many underfloor heating systems. A suitable subfloor, appropriate parquet adhesive, controlled surface temperatures, and the technical specifications of the respective product are important. You can find further basics in the guide Parquet and underfloor heating.
