Family-owned since 1895
Since its founding by Georg Gunreben in 1895, our company has steadily evolved: from a timber trade to the first sawmill, and on to modern production in Strullendorf. To this day, Gunreben remains family-run – characterized by continuity, entrepreneurial responsibility, and a passion for wood.
What defines Gunreben
Gunreben combines experience, vertical integration, and responsibility within a single company. Through our own processing facilities at our Strullendorf site, we maintain control over many stages of the process – from the raw log to the finished floor. This ensures consistent quality, streamlined communication, and a profound understanding of our customers' requirements. In doing so, we remain true to the values that have shaped our company for generations: professional expertise, honest cooperation, and the responsible use of wood as a raw material.
In-house Production
At Gunreben, quality begins with the round timber. At our Strullendorf site, we process wood with experience, precision, and modern technology – from the purchasing of round timber through sawing, drying, and cutting to the finished floor. Additionally, we offer services such as contract planing and drying for customers in the skilled trades, retail, and industry.
Responsibility for the raw material wood
Wood is a renewable raw material – and, for us, also a commitment. That is why we are intensively examining how we use wood in our production and how we manage the resources involved. We also pursue a conscious and long-term approach to the energy supply for our site.
