With Garapa Prime KD decking boards, you can design your outdoor areas to be elegant and long-lasting. The high-quality Garapa wood impresses with its bright honey-yellow color, which transitions into a warm play of brownish colors after installation, lending a natural look to any terrace project.

The Garapa decking boards originate from tropical South America, particularly southern Brazil, northern Argentina, and Paraguay, and are characterized by high natural durability (DIN-EN 350-2, class 3) as well as outstanding mechanical strength. This makes them optimally suited for outdoor use – even without special protective measures.

Thanks to kiln drying (KD), the boards have a moisture content of 16–18%, which minimizes swelling and shrinking and enables a durable, stable terrace. With a gross density of 790–1,010 kg/m³, the boards are particularly heavy and robust, with a standard board of 21 × 145 mm weighing approximately 3.3 kg per linear meter. The Brinell hardness of 30–79 N/mm² significantly exceeds that of native white oak and ensures high load-bearing capacity.

Garapa Prime KD decking boards can be easily worked with carbide tools. Pre-drilling is essential for all fastenings to avoid shearing off screws and cracking of the wood. For an optimal appearance and longevity, a gap of at least 4 mm should be maintained during installation.

When using, pay attention to contact with ferrous metals, as these can lead to unsightly gray-blue discoloration in combination with the tannin-containing ingredients. Therefore, preferably use A4 stainless steel for fastenings and railings, and ensure that surface water is drained to prevent staining.
