Garapa Prime KD French-style decking board 25 × 145 mm fixed lengths

Garapa Prime KD French-profile decking boards 25x145mm fixed lengths – long-lasting elegance from South America

The Garapa Prime KD French-profile decking boards 25 × 145 mm in fixed lengths offer high-quality tropical hardwood from South America that impresses with its outward beauty, dimensional stability, and exceptional resilience. Garapa wood is characterized by a bright, honey-yellow coloring that gently transitions into a warm brown palette after installation – perfect for elegant, natural patio areas.

The French profile gives the boards a fine, elegant appearance and ensures a high-quality surface feel – ideal for deck areas where design and aesthetics are the primary focus. Technical drying (KD) to a moisture content of 16–18% ensures high dimensional stability and minimizes the risk of cracking or warping.

With durability class 3 according to DIN EN 350-2, Garapa offers robust weather resistance, even without chemical wood preservation (direct ground contact excluded). The high density (790–1,010 kg/m³) and a Brinell hardness of up to 79 N/mm² make Garapa particularly compression-resistant and durable, ideal for high-traffic decks.

Its moderate swelling and shrinkage behavior requires a joint width of at least 4 mm during installation to compensate for natural dimensional changes. Pre-drilling is mandatory for assembly, as Garapa has an abrasive effect due to its hardness and silica content. Carbide-tipped tools ensure clean cuts and precise processing.

A4 grade stainless steel screws should be used for fastening to prevent gray-blue discoloration caused by reactions with the tannin-rich components. Controlled water drainage also provides additional protection against surface contamination.
