Oak coffin-grade timber for coffin manufacturers
Gunreben supplies oak coffin-grade timber from its own sawmill in Strullendorf: unedged oak boards, 26 mm thick, kiln dried, 4.10 m long – for blanks and lamellas of 2.05 m used in coffin manufacturing.
For enquiries, please tell us the quantity, delivery location and desired date. Mr. Fößel checks current availability and agrees the next steps with you. A first order is possible from one pack, after which we deliver by the truckload.

Suitable for producing blanks and lamellas of 2.05 m length for coffin manufacturing. Mainly for visible use, but also for veneering where unwanted wood features such as worm holes or many knots are present.

Oak from our own sawmill
As a sawmill and parquet manufacturer under one roof, we process oak in large quantities – up to 20,000 cubic metres in single-shift operation. Drying begins in the open air; afterwards the wood is brought to the target moisture content technically in our drying chambers.

What dimensions does the oak coffin-grade timber have?
The coffin-grade timber ABC is unedged, 26 mm thick, kiln dried to 9 % ± 2 % moisture content and 4.10 m long, with a face width from 150 mm. Each board yields two blanks of 2.05 m.
Is the coffin-grade timber intended for visible parts or for veneering?
Mainly for visible use. Where unwanted wood features such as worm holes or many knots are present, it is also suitable for veneering.
Which wood features are permitted?
Permitted, among others, are sound, tight knots and wing knots up to 50 mm, curvature, heart and end checks. Surface checks and worm holes in heartwood are permitted but receive a price allowance. Not permitted are spiral grain, unsound and rotten knots, ring shake, rot and colour defects. We will gladly send you the complete grading description.
Is there a minimum quantity?
A first order is possible from one pack. After that, we deliver by the truckload.
How is invoicing done?
Coffin-grade timber is an industrial product and not in our standard price list. Mr. Fößel will quote the price per cubic metre (€ per m³) on request. Measurement is taken on the narrow side, including one sound sapwood edge.
