Garapa Prime KD grooved decking board 25 × 145 mm fixed lengths

Garapa Prime KD grooved decking boards 25 × 145 mm fixed lengths – durable elegance from South America

The Garapa Prime KD grooved decking boards 25x145mm fixed lengths offer high-quality tropical hardwood from South America that impresses with its natural beauty, stability, and longevity. Garapa wood is distinguished by a bright, honey-yellow coloring that gently transitions into a warm brown palette after installation – ideal for stylish, elegant patio areas.

The grooved surface provides an anti-slip structure and increases safety on patios, balconies, or pool areas. The kiln-drying (KD) process to 16–18% wood moisture ensures dimensional stability and reduces the risk of cracks or warping.

With a durability class of 3 according to DIN EN 350-2, Garapa offers excellent weather resistance, even without chemical wood preservatives (excluding direct ground contact). Due to its high density (790–1,010 kg/m³) and a Brinell hardness of up to 79 N/mm², Garapa is particularly robust and long-lasting – optimal for high-traffic patio areas.

The wood exhibits moderate swelling and shrinkage behavior, so a gap width of at least 4 mm must be maintained during installation. Pre-drilling is mandatory for assembly, as the hardwood has an abrasive effect due to silica deposits. Carbide-tipped tools ensure precise cuts and clean results.

For fastening, only grade A4 stainless steel screws should be used to prevent gray-blue discoloration caused by the wood's tannin content. Controlled water drainage also provides additional protection against surface soiling.
