Oak Glued Laminated Board 40 mm in Grade B
This solid glued laminated board made of European oak—specifically knotty oak—brings the natural expressiveness of the wood visibly into your project. With a thickness of 40 mm, full-length staves, and the distinctive Grade B, it is suitable for tabletops, worktops, furniture, and custom interior finishes where a lively wood aesthetic is explicitly desired. Visible knots, knot holes, cracks, and natural color variations characterize the rustic look, making every oak board a unique piece with character. As the board is supplied unfilled, these original features intentionally remain recognizable. The specific appearance can therefore vary significantly from board to board.

Rustic knotty oak with a unique character
Grade B is characterized by a natural and expressive oak look. Knots, open knot holes, potential cracks, as well as shifting shades and structures are part of the typical appearance of this rustic oak board. The unfilled finish leaves these features visible while offering you creative freedom for further processing.
This results not in uniform, mass-produced surfaces, but in individual wood boards, each with its own grain. This lively wood aesthetic is particularly well-suited for rustic, modern, or intentionally nature-focused interior design concepts.
Full-length staves for a clear wood grain
The individual staves run across the entire length of the glued laminated board. Unlike finger-jointed or short-stave versions, there are no regular butt joints within the staves. The grain appears longitudinal and cohesive.
This continuous wood grain is especially effective for large tabletops, worktops, and visible furniture parts. This is how the striking wood image of the knotty oak combines with a clear, longitudinal surface effect.
40 mm thick oak board for furniture and interior finishing
With its robust thickness, the 40 mm solid oak board is particularly suitable for projects where a substantial material presence is desired. Potential applications include tabletops, worktops, shelves, windowsills, furniture carcasses, furniture parts, and other visible surfaces in dry indoor areas.
For worktops and vanity tops, a suitable all-round surface treatment is required. The solid wood board is intended for non-structural applications and must not be planned as a load-bearing component.
Raw sanded and ready for individual processing
Before cutting and processing, the 40 mm oak glued laminated board should acclimatize to the final room conditions. Depending on the desired result, the surface, which is sanded on both sides, can be further sanded, oiled, or lacquered. Knot holes and cracks can be intentionally left open or processed and filled according to your design concept.
Always observe the respective instructions for use when applying surface treatment products. Since solid wood reacts to changes in room humidity, natural swelling and shrinkage must be professionally taken into account during construction and installation.
Grade B or Grade A/B?
Grade B is significantly more rustic and displays unfilled knots, knot holes, cracks, and lively color variations. A board in Grade A/B, on the other hand, possesses a calmer A-side for visible surfaces and a more natural B-side. Which version fits your project better does not depend on a blanket rating, but rather on your desired appearance.
