3-Layer Plank

3-Layer Plank is a pre-finished parquet with a spacious plank effect and a stable multi-layer construction. The long planks bring tranquility to the area and display the wood surface significantly larger than smaller parquet formats.

Thanks to the three-layer construction, the floor remains easy to plan for and is suitable for modern living spaces as well as for renovations.

Wood species, grading, and surface

With 3-layer planks, the choice is primarily determined by the wood species, grading, and surface. The wood species sets the base tone, the grading controls the wood appearance, and the surface influences the feel, maintenance, and suitability for everyday use.

Oak is the most versatile choice and fits many interior design styles. Smoked oak adds more depth to the floor, while walnut looks warmer and more exclusive.

Select 3-layer plank by grading

The grading determines how calm or lively the wood appearance looks. Select/Nature shows a more uniform surface, Project introduces more natural character, and Classic emphasizes knots, color variation, and structure more strongly. For small rooms or minimalist interiors, a subtle grading often appears clearer; in large, open areas, the wood pattern can be more lively.

The surface should match the usage. Oiled variants make the wood structure feel natural, brushed or hand-planed versions show more texture, and matte-lacquered surfaces appear more sealed.

Construction and format

3-layer plank consists of a visible wood wear layer, a stabilizing middle layer, and a backing. The three-layer construction ensures good dimensional stability and, at a thickness of mostly 14 mm, remains easy to plan for when installation height, transitions, and adjacent floor coverings must be considered.

The format determines how the plank is perceived in the room. 190 mm wide planks result in a spacious, yet well-balanced floor appearance. At a width of 260 mm, the grain of every individual plank stands out more.

Tip: If a lower installation height and a strictly full-surface bonding are the priority, G-Park 2-Layer may be the more suitable collection.

Technical notes on installation and planning

3-layer planks can be full-surface bonded or floated. For a floating installation, the subfloor must be sufficiently level and permanently dry.
